The second-floor Contemporary Gallery
Freeport artist Melinda Cook presents an elaborate display of more than a decade of paintings, sculptures, found objects, and hoarded materials. This heavily layered installation of primarily abstract work focuses on bold color, organic form, and curious textures residing somewhere between a religious shrine and a trash heap for a rich and stimulating sensory experience.
Due to current Covid - 19 concerns, there will be no opening reception. It is, however, quite safe to view this exhibit during regular museum hours. Masks and social distancing are required.
Tue. - Fri. 10 am - 5 pm and Sat. 12 pm - 5 pm
This Exhibition is partially supported by the Illinois Arts Council Agency.
